PIETRAMATTA - Cenate Sotto, Bergamo, Lombardia
About the Winery
Pietramatta is a small, artisanal winery from the province of Bergamo, led by winemaker Andrea Sala, a testament to the unwavering passion of this authentic winemaker. Nestled East of Bergamo city and embraced by the enchanting west of Lake d'Iseo, this winery is a beacon of excellence. Through a meticulous interaction between tradition and innovation, Andrea embarked on a journey in 1990, taking the reins of the family vineyards on the Loreto hill in Cenate Sotto, and initiating the renewal of the vineyard park, amid ongoing experiments, and transforming it into a masterpiece.
These vineyards, now elevated to an exemplary status, tell us stories of dedication.
An ideal terroir, a fresh breeze from the Monte Misma, vineyards kept in vegetative balance with high density with reduced yields per plant, and continuous green pruning steps, lead Andrea and his team to harvest grapes that are perfect for health, ripeness and concentration, not just grapes but an essence of unparalleled quality.
Pietramatta's winemaking philosophy goes beyond mere production; it's a quest to craft wines that resonate with the soul. Each bottle is a testament to a meticulous project, a harmonious blend of a specific terroir and carefully chosen grape varieties. While rooted in the traditions of the past, the pursuit of excellence is a perpetual journey – an interaction of continuous experimentation and firm dedication, revealing itself in every sip of his wines.
Andrea’s wines are not just beverages; they are an emotional journey.
Pietramatta strives to create not just an experience but an indelible, distinctive mark, on those wine lovers fortunate enough to taste the fruits of this labour of love! Be fast, very limited availability!
