Bortolomiol is a strong and tightly-knit family entirely composed of women: the mother, the soul and backbone of the family, and the sisters, the pulsating heart guiding and supporting the family business through constant challenges to achieve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, all with a vision that remains ever competitive.
Tradition, passion, and intuition: documents from the mid-18th century bear witness to the existence of Bartolomeo Bortolomiol, the forefather who passed down the family name and profession through generations. Throughout his entire life, Bartolomeo cultivated vines in the hills of Valdobbiadene, imparting his love for the land and the desire to make the most of it to his descendants. His example reached Giuliano Bortolomiol, who always believed in quality and the future of Prosecco DOC, dedicating his entire life to it.
This is the legacy Giuliano left to his wife Ottavia and their daughters Maria Elena, Elvira, Luisa, and Giuliana, who, with a 'natural' instinct, not only preserved what their father built but also took on new challenges to ensure that this revolution does not come to an end.
For many years, Bortolomiol has been employing organic viticulture techniques. The family vineyards, situated in the heart of Valdobbiadene and the Parco della Filandetta, have been transformed to meet EU standards for organic wine-making. The principles of sustainability and complete respect for the environment are strongly emphasized and central to their approach.
